World War 1 Adelaide Hospital, war service nurses 1920

This photograph is one in the collection of Henrietta Perrin, donated to the Heritage Office Royal Adelaide Hospital.  Nurse Perrin identified herself sitting in the second row, marked with blue ink pen and initialled. In the row in front of her are Nurses Mary Reid, Francis Deere and A Hancock, amongst other yet unidentified Adelaide Hospital graduates.

In this group of South Australian nurses, are some British and Red Cross uniformed nurses.   Medal bars are worn on the capes of recipents.

The photograph was taken outside the Royal British Nurses’ Association building, later known as ‘Yarrabee’ (on the corner of Rundle Road and Dequetteville Tce, Adelaide).
