About this objectThe Nurses Registration Act was passed in 1920. After this year all qualified nurses were registered and issued with a badge by the Nurses Board of South Australia (NBSA). The badge is circular with a small crown at the top, made of gold plated base metal with blue enamel border and shield.
This badge belonged to Mary Bowers Attenborough. Engraved on reverse, ‘M B Attenborough’ ‘3499’.
Included with the badge is a reference from Sir Henry Simpson Newland and copies of photographs of Mary Attenborough.
