About this objectThis handwritten notebook record of the Supervising Matrons allocated to one of three categories for nurses examinations; Surgical, Medical, General and designated Reliever. Exams were planned around each April, August and November.

The first five years of entries are Matron E (Eleanor) Harrold, her name written in ink on inside front cover. The notebook is in fair condition, with the spine thread broken and cover split from the first page.

The handwriting over the following eras distinctly changes, Matron Harrold 1932-1943; however the entries 1944-1946; 1947-1948; and lastly 1949-1955 are unidentified.
